Happiness
by heybaby insomething always bothered me growing up as a witness.
we were always taught that people in the "world" couldn't possibly be happy because they didn't have the "truth.
" this always bothered me.

What used to annoy me is if you pointed out that people in the world were happy, genuinely happy, then you would always be told that their happiness is relative and temporary. Only JW’s have a deep contented happiness………
Was there a special meeting that I missed out on or something, because I was miserable……..!!!

The end of the gentile times....
by digderidoo ini have been having a serious dicussion on another site with a jw.
so far i think i have got my point across regarding 1914 and how the date wasn't actually predicted.
whereas he has come back and said that they did in fact predict "the end of the gentile times".. to a point he is right, russell and his associates did say this.

Where To Go For 10th Wedding Anniversary?
by sweet pea inbesty and i will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in september of this year.
we would like to do a week or weekend somewhere special and as we currently reside in la, we are considering hawaii, mexico or a city like san francisco.
we will probably be taking the podlets along with us so they are a consideration too.

And yet the Greatest Man book states (chapters 131 and/or 132) that when Jesus arrived in 1914, only his true disciples saw it. So I guess that "proves" that Russell, Rutherford, and the Bible Students (later called JW's) were not his true disciples. The Society continued to teach that the Second Parousia began in 1874 until at least 1929 (Prophecy book).
Well I am really sorry but your ‘Greatest Man’ book has to be wrong because on the front cover of my book ‘the Harp of God’ it says that it is "Proof Conclusive", and then goes onto say that they were waiting for Jesus in 1874.
